Evidence supports that when parents are educated in strategies to support AAC, such as partner-augmented input (PAI), AAC modeling increases, parents and children become more comfortable with their devices, parents report an increase in AAC use at home, and children use more words on their devices

Kristen Powell,  M.S., CCC-SLP is an ASHA certified speech-language pathologist with specialized experience working with children and adults who have complex communication needs. Kristen has served the communication needs of individuals ages 3 to 18 with a variety of diagnoses including cerebral palsy, autism, traumatic brain injury (TBI), developmental delays, Down Syndrome, visual impairment, and others. I specialize in assessment, device trial, and implementation training of assistive technology and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).  
Kristen is passionate about providing individuals with the most appropriate assistive technology to improve their communication with their family and peers.
